Small Business and Non-Profit Enhanced Incentives


Evergy supports Kansas small businesses and non-profit organizations by offering enhanced energy efficiency incentives to eligible customers. That means when you upgrade your lighting, HVAC, water heating, kitchen equipment, commercial refrigeration and more, you'll receive a cash check that's 30%–50% higher than the standard amounts.

What incentives does this
program provide?

  • Enhanced incentives for energy-efficient upgrades of refrigeration, interior and exterior lighting, HVAC controls, compressed air, water heating, food service, and more
  • Upgrading to energy-efficient equipment improves your service and workplace environment.
  • Energy incentives and savings can be redirected to support community initiatives. 

 Who is eligible for the incentives?

Evergy offers enhanced energy efficiency incentives to:

  • Kansas small businesses that use less than 1.5 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually
  • Non-profit organizations, regardless of energy usage, that meet the below criteria

Non-profit eligibility requirements:

    1. Hold 501(c)3 status
    2. Be current on their Evergy bill
    3. Serve a client base that is greater than or equal to 65% low-income individuals and families
    4. Be responsible for paying their own energy bills

How do I apply for the program?

  • Work with any contractor of your choosing or browse our list of approved Trade Allieswho are familiar with the program. You can also self-install if that's preferable
  • Fill out a project application. You will be able to select "small business" or "non-profit" when inputting your information.
